The Jack and Jill of America Foundation – Jacqueline Moore Bowles Scholarship will provide need-based scholarships to service-oriented African American college students.

Scholarship Value

Scholarship awards will be applied toward tuition and room & board ranging from $1,500 to $2,500.
Award funds will be available to the recipient in the 2022-2023 academic year. You can renew this scholarship in the sophomore through senior years for recipients who qualify.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Be African American and a US citizen or permanent US resident.
  2. Also, be currently classified as a college freshman, sophomore, or junior.
  3. Be a full-time student for the 2022-2023 academic year at any 4-year college or university.
  4. Be majoring in Communications.
  5. In addition, have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  6. Have completed a minimum of 60 hours of community service activities between June 2021 – May 2022.
  7. Moreover, have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and have a demonstrated unmet financial need as verified by the applicant’s institution.

Application Requirements

  1. An official or unofficial current academic transcript.
  2. A 1-page essay (Please write a thoughtful 1-page (350-600 word) essay describing how your community service and volunteer activities during the past year have and will prepare you for your future career.)
  3. Also, a completed Community Service Verification Form
