The Solutions Journalism Network (SJN) is actively seeking 15 innovative U.S.-based newsrooms ready to embrace a transformative approach to journalism by rethinking how they cover government and democracy. This initiative aims to broaden the scope of news reporting by not only addressing what is going wrong but also by highlighting compelling stories of how communities are successfully addressing challenges and implementing effective solutions. By shifting the focus from a predominant narrative of problems to an inclusive exploration of successful interventions and positive impacts, this effort seeks to provide audiences with a more balanced perspective on governance. Participating newsrooms will have the opportunity to dive deep into reporting on constructive responses to issues, learn from successful case studies, and ultimately contribute to a more informed and engaged public that understands both the complexities of democratic processes and the potential pathways to improvement.
