Join the CUIMUN 2024 : The Art of Alliances for Global Cooperation

CUIMUN 2024 will feature a three-day virtual conference from November 15 to November 17, 2024, hosting 392 delegates from around the world who will engage in meaningful debates aimed at enhancing global cooperation and mitigating the fragmentation of countries into rival blocs. The conference will consist of 16 committees, incorporating both established favorites (such as the Security Council, General Assembly, International Court of Justice, and Historical Crisis) and new additions (including UN Specialized Agencies and NATO).

About CUIMUN 2024

This year’s theme, The Art of Alliances: Achieving Stability through Global Cooperation, invites participants to re-examine the role of alliances in contemporary geopolitics. Historically, opposing alliances, such as the Entente and Central Powers or NATO and the Warsaw Pact, have been viewed as sources of division, international tension, and conflict. In today’s world, we see similar patterns emerging, marked by the division between US-aligned countries, the Russian-Chinese-Iranian bloc, and the Global South. These divisions pose significant challenges for the United Nations in its pursuit of unity and diplomacy.

The 27th edition of CUIMUN aims to redefine alliances in the 21st century, showcasing their potential as tools for fostering peace and stability through cross-border cooperation. A global alliance could work towards common goals, including geopolitical, nuclear, and space security, the elimination of ethnic and gender-based discrimination, and the reduction of economic and social inequalities. This collaborative approach may serve to counter the rising trend of multipolarity.
