METI AI and Tech Talent Internship 2025 in Japan | Fully Funded

Looking for an AI or Tech internship? Here’s your chance to intern in Japan! Applications are now open for the METI AI and Tech Talent Internship 2025, a fully funded opportunity for students from ODA recipient countries who are passionate about Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology. This unique program offers hands-on experience at leading Japanese companies, aiming to foster global diversity in Japan’s tech industry.

The internship runs from October 31 to December 15, 2025, lasting 1.5 months, and welcomes Bachelor’s, Master’s, or graduate students. No Japanese language proficiency is required, making it accessible to international applicants. Selected interns (1–5 per company) will engage in real-world projects such as digital transformation, AI-driven business development, web design for global markets, market research, and service development for overseas audiences.

Participants will be placed in various tech companies across Japan. In addition to gaining valuable technical and professional skills, interns will receive a living allowance, travel and accommodation support, and all necessary equipment during the program. Upon completion, a certificate will be awarded to recognize your achievement.

Eligibility Criteria for METI AI and Tech Talent Internship in Japan 2025:

• Applicants must hold citizenship of a country listed on the OECD/DAC list (excluding China).
• They must reside outside of Japan.
• Must be expected to graduate or have already graduated from any higher educational institution. Graduated students must have graduated within the last three years.
• Their objectives must align with the objectives of this program.
• Interns must be willing to actively contribute to this METI Tech internship program.
• They must be able to communicate in English.
• Applicants must not have Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N5 or higher.
• Must be able to fully commit to internships and training.
• Interns must meet any additional requirements specified by any individual company.
