Applications are now open for the RFI – AUF Prize for Young Writing 2025, an exciting literary competition that celebrates and promotes creativity among young French-language writers around the world. Organized by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), Radio France Internationale (RFI), and Short Édition, this prize aims to encourage a love for both writing and reading in French, offering young talents a unique platform to share their voices and stories. Now in its 7th edition, the prize continues to grow in prestige and reach, drawing submissions from across the Francophone world. This year, the competition will be presided over by the renowned and multi-award-winning Franco-British author and director Alexis Michalik, who will bring his experience and artistic insight to lead the jury in selecting the next generation of literary voices. If you’re a young writer with a passion for storytelling in French, this is your chance to be recognized and celebrated on an international stage.
To participate in this edition, the fiction story must be a maximum of 8,000 characters (including spaces) and must begin with: “I can’t tell where I come from. I have forgotten everything”, an incipit taken from Alexis Michalik’s play, Passport, published by Albin Michel.
Two prizes will be awarded:
