The DAAD-EPOS Scholarship 2027 at the University of Freiburg offers an opportunity for young professionals from developing countries to pursue a Master of Science in Environmental Governance (MEG) in Germany. The MSc Environmental Governance programme at the University of Freiburg is recognized by DAAD as a development-related postgraduate course under the EPOS programme. Who Can Apply?

The scholarship is intended for young professionals from DAC-listed developing countries. Applicants must have an academic degree that is not more than six years old at the time of application and at least two years of relevant professional experience after completing their bachelor’s degree.

Applicants are also expected to have an above-average academic record, generally within the upper third of their graduating class. Candidates who have already lived in Germany for more than 15 months before applying are not eligible under the stated requirements. Applicants who already hold a master’s degree must provide a strong justification for pursuing another postgraduate degree.

What Does the Scholarship Offer?

DAAD-EPOS scholarship recipients are exempt from the study fees charged to non-EU students. The MSc Environmental Governance programme is conducted in English and takes two years (four semesters), leading to 120 ECTS credits.

Applicants should note that the scholarship is highly competitive and that submitting an application does not guarantee selection.
