
The Tomorrow’s Leaders Program 2027–2028 is now accepting applications from eligible students across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), this competitive scholarship program provides financial support for undergraduate studies, leadership development, professional training, and internship opportunities.
The program offers eligible students the opportunity to pursue undergraduate degrees at the American University of Beirut (AUB) or Lebanese American University (LAU) in Lebanon. Through academic education, mentorship, and practical learning experiences, the initiative aims to develop future leaders who can contribute to their communities and countries.

1. Nationality and Country Eligibility
The program is open to eligible students from the following countries and territories:
Certain Palestinian students residing in a third country may also qualify if they hold the required legal residency status. Applicants should consult the official eligibility guidelines for the applicable conditions.
2. Educational Requirements
Applicants should generally be current high school seniors or students who graduated from high school in 2026. Certain applicants from Iraq, Libya, Syria, the West Bank, and Yemen who graduated in 2025 may also be eligible under the program’s specific provisions.

3. Academic Performance
Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong academic credentials and the ability to succeed in a demanding undergraduate program.

5. English Language Requirements
Applicants do not need to have TOEFL or IELTS scores when submitting their initial applications. Instead, they complete a free online English assessment provided by Arizona State University (ASU) as part of the application process.
Shortlisted candidates will subsequently be required to take TOEFL or IELTS, with testing costs covered for shortlisted finalists according to the program’s provisions.
