The European Astronaut Centre is looking for a dynamic intern in the field of Development of Video & Multimedia Training Materials. The full-time internship is for six months, based at EAC near the historic city of Cologne.

ASTRONAUT TRAINING AT THE EAC

The EAC is the home base of Europe’s astronauts. The Astronaut Training Division is responsible for developing and implementing ESA astronaut training programmes. As part of their preparation for missions to the ISS all astronauts from ESA and its International Partners (NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA, CSA) receive training at EAC for the Columbus European research laboratory. In addition, the EAC provides training for certain special skills such as Robotics, Extra-Vehicular Activities (EVA) and Human Behaviour and Performance (HBP).

BACKGROUND

The EAC has a rich back catalogue of material that was taught to the current group of ESA astronauts during their initial Basic Training. This catalogue is being used as the starting point to develop new educational materials in a range of multimedia formats using a variety of modern learning technologies. The goal of this internship is to assist in this process.
