The University of Malta invites application for Scholarships for Masters in Oceanography in Malta. The scholarships aim for international students as well as EU students. Moreover, there are three scholarships for masters in Oceanography out of which two are for EU students while one international student will receive the remaining scholarship. The Masters in Oceanography provides students an opportunity to associate with the recent researches and further contribute to the sector.
Further, the University of Malta supports international studies and aims to foster a global network of leading experts who can provide a sustainable solution to existing problems and lead the future society. Consequently, it provides scholarships for various bachelors as well as masters studies especially focusing on the area of Oceanography.
The scholarship can cover bench fees and tuition fees. The selected foreign students can also apply for a maintenance grant amounting to a total of 1500 Euro each, and paid in pre-installments by semester. The scholarship does not cover travel costs.
The scholarship does not include any travel costs.
Students will receive the Maintenance Grant in three installments at the beginning of each semester. The grant covers personal expenses such as accommodation. The grant is not sufficient to fully cover all costs for a one year stay in Malta. Therefore, applicants should cover the rest of the expenses. Guidance on approximate costs for accommodation and living in Malta can be provided on request.
Students who resign, fail, or abandon the course are to pay back all of the maintenance grants.
STEP 1: Apply online on the University of Malta website. Upon completing this step you will receive an Application Confirmation Number.
STEP 2: Fill in the Online Application Form and submit it together with the requested supporting documents by not later than 31st May 2019.
Students who are expecting to obtain qualifications within the current academic year are also eligible to apply. In such a circumstance, the letter of recommendation by the relative tutor/supervisor highlighting the student’s potential and performance as well as an official transcript will be of utmost importance in the final selection.

The selection will be made by the Board of Studies of the course and will be based on the academic records and experience of the applicant and on their relevance to the nature of the course. The selection of the candidates will be made by the Board of Studies of the course. The decisions made by the Board of Studies cannot be contested.
