The University of Western Australia invites application for Gledden Visiting Fellowships from exceptional candidates. The Gledden Visiting Fellowships are part of the estate bequeathed to the University by the late Robert John Gledden to promote and encourage education and research at the University in the disciplines of applied science, more particularly relating to surveying, engineering, mining or cognate subjects.

These Fellowships enable researchers to make a significant contribution to the research effort of the University to undertake a period of collaborative research with a UWA host. There are two fellowship schemes: the Robert and Maude Gledden Senior Visiting Fellowship; and the Robert and Maude Gledden Short Stay Visiting Fellowship.

Gledden Senior Visiting Fellowship

The Senior Visiting Fellowships are open to researchers who have doctoral degrees or equivalent qualifications or experience, and who are mid-career or senior researchers.

Remuneration

Senior Visiting Fellowships provide a round trip economy airfare. Also, it provides approximately AUD$1500 per week inclusive of accommodation as well as a modest living allowance for up to a maximum of 90 days. Funding is not provided for accompanying family.

Applications

These Fellowships are offered annually. Applications close on 30 August 2019. Gledden Visiting Fellowships Committee will assess the applications. Further, they will not consider the applications that do not relate to the fields of surveying, engineering, mining or cognate subjects. Further, Applications must be lodged by a UWA-based researcher.

Gledden Short Stay Visiting Fellowship

The Short Stay Visiting Fellowships are open to researchers who have doctoral degrees, or equivalent qualifications or experience. Early, mid-career and senior researchers are eligible to apply.

Remuneration

The Short Stay Visiting Fellowships provide a maximum of AUD$3000 to assist with travel as well as accommodation expenses.

Applications

Applicants may lodge for the Short Stay  Fellowships at any time during the year. They may receive the award as per the availability of the funds. However, the Institute of Advanced Studies will assess the applications and will not consider the applications that do not relate to the fields of surveying, engineering, mining or cognate subjects. Further, UWA-based researchers are eligible to lodge the application.

Candidates are eligible if they meet the specified criteria. Further, to apply for the Senior Fellowships you may fill up the application form and submit it via email. Also, the candidates applying for a short stay fellowship need to fill up the application form and mail it to the aforementioned email address.

Deadline:

The applicants who are eligible to apply for the fellowship may apply before 30 August 2019. Applications post deadline are null and void.
