The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) invites applications from female Nigerian professional journalists (fulltime or freelancer). Further,  who has a passion for ethical journalism. Also, Who is active to excellent professional media practice. Further, possess great ideas to lead dynamic improvements on the practice, and have at least three years’ experience in the newsroom.

Moreover, The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization with programs aimed at exposing corruption, regulatory failures. Also, human rights abuses with the tool of investigative journalism. The initiative started in 2005 under the name Wole Soyinka Investigative Reporting Award (WSIRA). The Centre is after Professor Wole Soyinka’s name in recognition of his life-long work in support. Additionally, of the freedom of expression, freedom to hold an opinion, and freedom to impart them without fear or favor and without hindrance or interference. The Centre is based in Lagos with a wide reach of media organizations it works with across the country. Its core activities include media engagement on various issues, thematic training, media monitoring, resource development and award making on investigative reporting. Motunrayo Alaka, the Coordinator of WSCIJ, serves as the Programme Director for FRLP.

The Female Reporters’ Leadership Fellowship is a program made to equip female journalists with the skills, finesse, support and tools to take bold steps. Further,  that will help position them for the highest leadership positions in their various media houses.  In addition, it creates a train-the-trainer team who better appreciate the importance of mainstreaming gender in the news. The exposure will entail a four-day training, three-month mentorship, two share-fairs, and fellowship assignments.

Benefit

• At the end of the program, there would be an award event to share the program experience, lessons, and possible next steps, and to appreciate the efforts of all stakeholders including the mentors and the fellows. The best three fellows will also get award event, prizes.
