Queen’s University Belfast  Illuminate:  The Vice-Chancellor’s Fellowship Scheme, is an opportunity for exceptional and ambitious early-career researchers to join Queen’s to focus on achieving research excellence that aligns to its strategic vision. Successful Fellows will join a strong and talented team of researchers on a five-year scheme with a guaranteed career pathway to a Senior Lecturer or Reader post.  Fellows will benefit from membership of a dedicated Fellowship Academy, designed to provide appropriate development support in order to nurture researchers with outstanding potential, which includes a Fellows Network and a bespoke mentoring program.

What will the Illuminate Fellows receive at Queen’s University Belfast?

Queen’s University provides attractive well-being, family friendly and other lifestyle benefits to its fellows. Moreover, the fellows receive a stipend of amount GBP 39,992 – GBP 49,149 per annum. Further, the fellowship has the potential to progress the stipend to GBP 52,132 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution. Also, fellows will receive a generous ‘Fellowship Enhancement Award’ from GBP 20,000-GBP 50,000. If the fellows require assistance, they can hire a full-time PhD student as well. Queen’s University will provide funding to recruit a PhD student.

Who is eligible for the Queen’s University Illuminate Fellowship Scheme?

Applicants for the Illuminate Fellowship Scheme must abide by the eligibility requirements of Queen’s for fellowship consideration. Moreover, the fellows should

• demonstrate how your current research is aligned to one or more of the Queen’s research areas.
• Further, have a relevant degree with a PhD (or equivalent)
• Also, the candidate should have 2-8 years’ post-PhD experience and a high-quality publication record.
