The “Salaam Fellowship for Conflict Resolution” is intense, week-long training and cultural exchange program that aims to provide fellows with a deeper understanding of conflict in its many forms. Fellowship participants will be equipped with critical competencies in conflict management and negotiation at both the interpersonal and intergroup level, taking care to examine the cultural implications involved.
As with all of the Open Hands Initiative’s programs, this workshop is primarily aimed at breaking down stereotypes and increasing interdependence between the program participants. Through open dialogue, interactive workshops, and real-world application of the material, participants will develop a solid foundation in conflict resolution through a cross-cultural and international lens. It will also include discussions on today’s most pressing issues related to the conflict in both the United States and Morocco, such as rising levels of inequality, migration, and climate change.
The Open Hands Initiative aims to provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for personal and professional growth. By participating in the fellowship, you will learn about other cultures, add valuable experience to your resume, create new connections, and gain valuable skills. Moreover, the Open Hand Initiative will cover the costs of the participants receiving Salaam Fellowship for Conflict Resolution, which includes:
