Postdoctoral position at Masaryk University
Masaryk University is the second largest university in the country of Czech Republic. As of 2014, Masaryk University has over 35,000 students and over 2,200 pedagogical staff and offers over 200 bachelors, 290 masters, and 130 doctoral full-time study programs, the university offers some programs in English or German as well as in combined form. It is one of the famous education provider in Europe which hosts thousands of international students in a year.
Masaryk University is seeking postdoctoral fellow in the field of Medieval Art History under the Department of Art History. The postdoctoral fellow will work alongside with other candidates in the specific project. The project is lead by Ivan Foletti which focuses on the city of Rome. However, the position holder will join the team of two doctoral fellow and one senior researcher. The studies artistic production of the period, with a focus on the monumental decoration. In general, the incumbent will supervise a significant part of the final monograph and have to author of at least two articles.
In addition to that, he/she will co-organize, with all the team, an international symposium dedicated to the question of the interaction between monumental decorations and liturgy during the Carolingian period in Rome. Furthermore, post-doc fellow will also participate in other activities of the Center for Early Medieval Studies, Department of Art History.
