About position

Masaryk University is seeking postdoctoral fellow in the field of Medieval Art History under the Department of Art History. The postdoctoral fellow will work alongside with other candidates in the specific project. The project is lead by Ivan Foletti which focuses on the city of Rome. However, the position holder will join the team of two doctoral fellow and one senior researcher.  The studies artistic production of the period, with a focus on the monumental decoration. In general, the incumbent will supervise a significant part of the final monograph and have to author of at least two articles.

In addition to that,  he/she will co-organize, with all the team, an international symposium dedicated to the question of the interaction between monumental decorations and liturgy during the Carolingian period in Rome. Furthermore, post-doc fellow will also participate in other activities of the Center for Early Medieval Studies, Department of Art History.

Required qualification

In order to be eligible for this postdoctoral position at Masaryk University, you must have the following qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree or it’s equivalent in the related field. In addition to that, 7 years of engagement in research after Ph.D.
  • Must be an author of at least 2 publication outputs registered in Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases and at the same time, publications such as “articles”, “books”, “book chapters”, “letters” and “reviews”. Also, must be the principal and first author of at least one publication.
  • Must have experience in the field of Medieval Art History.
  • Experience with research projects will be an advantage.
  • Furthermore, excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
