Applications are open for the Fully Funded Asian Development Bank (ADB) Scholarship at Keio University in Japan.  The Asian Development Bank was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth. Also,  cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world. A resolution passed at the first Ministerial Conference on Asian Economic Cooperation held by the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East in 1963 set that vision on the way to becoming reality. The Philippines capital of Manila was chosen to host the new institution. Further, Which opened on 19 December 1966, with 31 members that came together to serve a predominantly agricultural region. Takeshi Watanabe was the Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s first President. During the 1960s, the Asian Development Bank  (ADB) focused much of its assistance on food production and rural development.

This Fully Funded Asian scholarship is for students who are to the Master’s Program at Keio University and agree to return to their home country immediately after completing the Master’s program. At least two years of full-time professional work experience prior to application.

Benefit

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) scholarship provides

• A monthly stipend equivalent to that of Japanese Government Scholarship,
• one round-trip air ticket,
• full remission of tuition
• entrance fees, etc.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible).
• Likewise, The applicant should have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and an outstanding academic record.
• The applicant must have at least 2 years of full-time professional working experience (acquired after a university degree).
• Proficiency in oral and written English communication skills is mandatory.
• Further, The applicant must be no more than 35 years old at the time of application.
• The applicant must be in good health.
• The applicant must agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies, and contribute to the development of his home country.
• Further, Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, management and staff of ADB, consultants, and relatives of the aforementioned are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Applicants living or working in a country other than their home country are not eligible for this scholarship. If from another Developing Member Country of ADB, the application may be considered.
• Likewise, The scholarship does not sponsor undergraduate studies, distance learning programs, short-term training, conferences, seminars, thesis writing, and research projects.
