• The applicants must be of age between 18-30 years old as of award ceremony on December 2019. Further, they must be able to travel to the award ceremony to accept the prize.
• For a period of three years, the winner must be willing to do media interviews and appearances. Also, the winner should grant rights to GC and Cisco to use the name, likeness and related content in GC or Cisco marketing campaigns as well as on GC or Cisco owned-platforms.
• Further, the applicants must be a citizen of a country or entity subject to financial or other sanctions by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or other government entity of the United States of America that may restrict the transfer of the Prize.
• However, the applicants may not be an employee of Global Citizen or Cisco.
• Nor the applicants be a member of any organizations who has previously received prize funding or direct grant funding from Cisco or the Cisco Foundation.

Selection Criteria

1. Impact: Demonstrated track-record of measurable impact at scale over the last 3-5 years advancing one or more of the Global Goals.
2. Vision: Compelling vision and concrete plans for how to extend this work in the next 3-5 years, including how the prize will advance efforts.
3. Catalyst: Inspires other young people to have an impact on achieving one or more of the Global Goals.
4. Global Citizenship: Demonstrates the values and embodies the spirit of a global citizen and a global problem solver.
5. Technological Innovation: Innovates with technology or Internet-based communications to improve efficiency, reach, and magnify impact.

How to apply for the Global Citizen Prize?

Eligible candidates may apply for the 2019 Global Citizen Prize by completing and submitting the online application form.

The application consists of four parts:

Personal and Organization Information

Applicants must submit basic information about them and their organization and a scanned copy of passport.

Pitch / About Your Work

The applicants must explain why they deserve this award and provide with a 2-3 minute video of the pitch. Also, the applicants must answer 4 short answer questions about their work.

Description of how your work aligns with the Judging Criteria

In 250 words or less, the applicants must describe how they have achieved each one of the Prize’s criteria.

Supplemental Organizational Details.

Candidate must also submit proof of the organization’s registration details including the certificate of registration, incorporation or tax exemption and other supplemental information.

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award is on 6 October 2019. Applications arriving after the deadline are not eligible for the award.
