The International Federation of Red Cross invites applicants to apply for the Communications Archive Internship in Panama. The intern will contribute to the promotion of the importance of communication in actions to reduce disaster risk, promote resilience and behavior change and at the same time contribute to the achievement of the objectives proposed by the Communications Unit of the FIRC office for the Americas region.

Responsibilities 

The incumbent of Internship at the International Red Cross will do the following duties in Panama

• Develop a plan for the categorization, organization and archiving of communication material (internal and external).
• Organization of the photographic archive of the Unit.
• Organization of the archive of videos of the Unit as well as the organization of the documents of the Unit.
• Also, format and upload selected material to different IFRC platforms.
• Develop a guide to continue the archiving of subsequent materials.
• Furthermore, support for other communication actions developed by the Unit.

Requirements 

The ideal candidate will have

• Formal education or training in Communications, Photography, Videos, etc.
• In addition to that, experience in Photography and video Making and editing video (basic) Notions of graphic design Management and organization of archives or audiovisual libraries
• Good level of Spanish and English Management of Computer Management of editing programs Teamwork, results-oriented, organized, responsible, hardworking, solution-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure, ability to make decisions.

Conditions 

• Interns will not get salary or benefits from the Federation and the Federation will only provide a daily allowance that will cover the cost of meals and other related expenses.
• Similarly, they are solely responsible for making their own logistic arrangements (visa, travel, accommodation, insurance, etc.), as well as their cost before beginning the internship.
• Interns are not eligible for overtime pay.
• The Federation does not accept any responsibility to provide medical insurance, or the costs arising from accidents and illnesses incurred during the internship. Interns are required to provide a copy of their health and accident insurance certification.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. It takes action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. In addition to that, it works closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. ICRC also directs and coordinates the international activities conducted in these situations.
