The California Institute of Technology invites domestic as well as international students to participate in the Visiting Student Research Program in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory NASA. The periods are flexible and the can choose and apply for the part-time and full-time programs.
The JPL Visiting Student Research Program offers research opportunities to students who have a compatible research interest with NASA JPL. Students will have an opportunity to collaborate with JPL scientists or engineers, who serve as the students’ mentors. Students complete designated projects outlined by their mentors, gaining educational experience in their fields of study while also contributing to NASA and JPL missions and science. In addition to that, students will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of enrichment activities, including tours, lectures and career advisement, arranged by the JPL Education Office.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is a federally funded research and development center and NASA field center in La Cañada Flintridge, California, United States. Currently, NASA owns the JPL and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) manages the laboratory for NASA. The laboratory’s primary function is the construction and operation of planetary robotic spacecraft, though it also conducts Earth-orbit and astronomy missions. It is also responsible for operating NASA’s Deep Space Network.
