- The Program Aide within the Scholarships & Financial Aid office is responsible for counseling and providing financial aid and scholarship information to prospective and currently enrolled students and their families, primarily via telephone.
- Additionally, this is a part-time position and is not benefits eligible.
- The ideal candidate will be available to work 30 hours per week, able to work over the lunch hours (12 pm – 2 pm). Also, he/she should have some flexibility to adjust the work schedule as needed to assist with staff shortages that may occur.

Qualifications

Duties
The Program Aide does the following duties
- Uses discretion and independent judgment to advise students, parents, and/or prospective students in solving their educational financial problems through scholarships, loans, grants, employment, and financial advising.
- Also, he/she maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to financial aid, student employment, and scholarships.
- Furthermore, the incumbent may award, revise and/or approve the awarding of financial aid through the specific controls of program policy and guidelines.
- Also, Learns office and financial aid processes and assists as needed.
- Furthermore, he/she performs other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements
- The candidate must comply with the Texas A&M System Policy 07.02 Texas Higher Education Fair Lending Practices.
- Also, he/she must be in good standing on all Federal Student Loans. The U.S. Dept. of Education will not grant access to student loan data for any individual who is in default status. Access to such information is a necessity for this position.
- Furthermore, the incumbent should be able to rectify the default status within three months of employment.
- Also, he/she should maintain good standing for continued employment.
