Overview

The Anthropology Program at USU seeks a Temporary Assistant Professor in Biological Anthropology for a one-year (9 month), full-time appointment beginning August 1, 2020. Additionally, the University  seek applicants with a strong record of research, publication, and the integration of their research interests with teaching. Additionally, the successful applicant will teach a 2/3 course load including an introduction to Biological Anthropology, Perspectives on Race, and Sex, Evolution, and Health. Furthermore, other courses will be determined based upon department needs and candidate interests.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach courses in Biological Anthropology to fill departmental needs and other courses relevant to their expertise. Likewise, he/she will also advise undergraduate students pursuing the biological anthropology track in the major. Furthermore, topic and area specialization is open. Moreover, the University will give special consideration to candidates whose research and teaching interests complement, rather than replicate, current program offerings.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Ph.D. (ABD acceptable) in Anthropology from a CHEA accredited institution or international equivalent.
  2. Demonstrated potential for effective on-line course development and teaching experience.
  3. Also, demonstrated ability to live and work legally in the U.S.
  4. Likewise, the successful candidate must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Ph.D. in Anthropology from CHEA accredited institution or international equivalent and evidence of successful experience in on-line course-development and teaching.
