Duties

Within the Statistics Department, the incumbent is responsible for the Professional Masters Degree in Statistics. Works closely with the Department Chair, Manager and the Faculty committee, in key issues of the structure, policies, and operation guidelines for the Professional Masters Program in Statistics. Additionally, he/she evaluates complex student services issues and determines the best approaches for the program and the department. Also, the candidate actively participates in long-range strategic planning for the Master’s program. Likewise, he/she prepares program reports and coordinates program proposals required by the UC Office of the President. Furthermore, the Program Coordinator directs and coordinates the administration of the Professional Degree Program, including a full range of student services to current and prospective masters degree students.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Program Coordinator at the University of California

  • Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
  • Additionally, experience and skills in career counseling, including experience running career counseling workshops.
  • Similarly, strong computer application programs skills.
  • Skills in monitoring/assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements.
  • Also, in project management, social perceptiveness to be aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Also, the ability in problem identification, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, persuasion, leadership.
  • Interpersonal skills; Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of the Statistics field post-degree employment opportunities and practices
  • Additionally, experience working as a statistician and/or in private industry.
  • Also, demonstrated experience in program management, preferably in the context of higher education-industry relations.
