Duties
The incumbent will do the following duties
- Develops and maintains a budget control system
- Additionally, he/she advises the Vice President of Finance & Operations on the budget status of the college
- Reviews and updates department allocations
- Similarly, he/she trains & directs budget staff
- Confers and strategizes with Deans, Budget Authorities, and other college staff on budget and accounting
- Furthermore, the candidate will formulate and recommend the new procedure to maintain compliance and efficiencies
- Likewise, he/she develops tuition and other revenue estimates for timely inclusion in the budget development process.
- Monitors revenue during the fiscal year and alerts the VP of Finance & Operations to potential shortfalls.
- Moreover, he/she maintains and provides regular status reports for fees, reserves, and critical needs.
Qualifications for Vacancy for Associate Director of Budgets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access Database, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Excellent mathematical skills and mastery of excel spreadsheets
- Additionally, three years of experience applying accepted accounting principles to include sound business practices and internal controls, financial reporting metrics, financial forecasting. Also, monitoring expense and revenue tracking, payroll calculations, and journal voucher statements
- Also, the ability to independently gather the required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments. Ability to effectively and efficiently manage, with limited direction and oversight, the daily operations of a large, complex department comprised of specialized divisions responsible for numerous organizational missions.
- Furthermore, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance, or a related field.
