Purpose
With a focus on strengthening urban governance and resilience, the Technical Director for Integration will support the Chief of Party (COP) and Tayar Nepal team to spark innovation and operationalize integration across the program’s national and municipal programming. Additionally, collaborating closely with the DCOP, component leads and cross-cutting director, the Technical Director of Integration will be empowered to meaningfully integrate multisectoral approaches and program learning into work plans, and activity and grant design.
Duties
The incumbent will do the given duties
- Grounded in a multisectoral approach and drawing on the deep DRRM technical expertise within the Tayar Nepal team, stimulate creativity and innovative program execution by exposing staff and grantee partners to international best practices in economic growth, urban resilience climate change adaptation, and DRRM and related national and sub-national governance aspects adapted to the Nepali context.
- Additionally, informed by the 2018 Private Sector Landscape Assessment and subsequent program learnings, explicitly integrate the private sector into all facets of programmatic interventions. Also, engage a broad spectrum of private sector actors to expand programmatic interventions into new sectors which may include insurance, finance, real estate, tourism and watershed management, or others as relevant. Also, where promising interventions are identified through pilots or other means, replicate impact through new partnerships and engagement through associations, media or otherwise.
- Furthermore, he/she will instill shared responsibility to integrate learning into program design and implementation. Furthermore, this includes the facilitation of co-design annual work planning, bi-annual pause and reflect workshops, ongoing evaluation of results, and leveraging of resources to accelerate development impact across Tayar Nepal’s programming. Instill shared responsibility to integrate learning from annual political economy analysis into day-to-day program interventions.
Qualifications for Technical Director for Integration Vacancy in Nepal
- A master’s degree in a related field. Also, a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. That includes field experience in a management position on a donor-funded program.
- Additionally, demonstrated experience in leading activity design that adopts international best practice to a local country context.
- Furthermore, demonstrated experience in adaptive program management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and staff and stakeholder capacity building.
- Similarly, strong, demonstrated communication and partnership abilities.
- Experience of working in a similar country situation and deep understanding of urban governance and urban resilience.
- Also, candidates should have demonstrated experience in designing, integrating and implementing similar DRRM projects.
