The Department of German and Russian Studies at Binghamton University seeks a tenure-track instructor of the Russian language. The position begins September 1, 2020. Additionally, the instructor in the Russian Studies program will teach six four-credit Russian language courses a year at various levels, including a track for heritage learners. Furthermore, the Russian Studies program is a vibrant, growing community of faculty and students and the successful candidate will engage fully in the life of the department and university by organizing cultural events, promoting Russian studies broadly on campus, and other committee work. Additionally, the University expects regular engagement with the broader field of Russian language pedagogy.
Applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Russian Studies or related fields. Additionally, the applicant must have experience teaching undergraduates in North American institutions. Also, he/she should have demonstrated expertise in communicative language pedagogy and native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English.
