Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: manage and analyze budgets; prepare monthly budget reports for all faculty members regarding departmental accounts and extramural funding. Also, prepare the annual department budget in collaboration with the Department Head, advise on the financial standing of the department, and provide monthly updates on all departmental expenditures. Likewise, prepare and review financial transactions (journal vouchers, vendor vouchers, travel vouchers, collection reports, etc.) and determine the proper handling of financial transactions in accordance with Auburn University policies and procedures. Similarly, reconcile departmental purchasing cards monthly.
Review, investigate, and correct errors in financial entries; serve as a liaison with the College of Human Sciences and central business offices, including Procurement & Business Services and Student Financial Services. Likewise, serve as a liaison between faculty and department head to resolve issues related to financial matters.
Additionally, coordinate the financial management of several domestic and international departmental study tours, events, and programs, including the full range of on-campus and distance oriented education programs, which currently includes two undergraduate degree programs, six specialized study options, one Graduate Certificate Program, two masters and two doctoral programs. Additionally, this person would also be responsible for all financial liaison and reporting for the new Rane Culinary Center.
