Applications call for Communications Internship at WHO in Angola
The aim is to boost communication initiatives, ensuring greater support for the programs, aiming at reaching the three billion and improving the reputation, credibility, and resource mobilization. In this regard, given the scarcity of funds for hiring communication professionals, WHO Angola intends to implement the communication internship program to strengthen communication efforts. Interns will receive stipends to maintain their livings.
Key Duties
Under the supervision of the HPR officer, interns are assigned a project based on agreed terms of references and in line with their skill set. These terms of references typically include some or all the following responsibilities:
- Conduct media monitoring.
- Drafting press releases, impact, and human-interest stories.
- Pitch letters, and program reports.
- Develop an engaging presentation.
- Conduct media training.
- Executing event logistics.
- Developing media lists and coordinating media outreach efforts.
- Conducting measurement; and travel schedules.
- Undertake web research and data collection on specific subject areas.
- Content creation and community management to grow and increase WHO´S presence in digital platforms, and produce good pictures and videos as a key resource for stakeholders and donor engagement.
- Participate in on-going departmental projects.

Requirements
- Completion of three years of full-time studies in communications (bachelor’s level or equivalent) at a university or equivalent institution prior to commencing the assignment or have recently graduated in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Internship experience; PR agency or other communication services agency experience a plus.
- Experience with social media platforms.
- More specific experience such as a specialized computer program.
- Fluency in written and spoken Portuguese is necessary. In addition to that, advanced knowledge of English/ or French or any UN official language is desirable.
