Duties
- Improve Talladega College’s current retention strategies, which includes assessing the efficacy and recommending necessary student retention policy changes to administration;
- Additionally, design, implement and manage a comprehensive early alert system focused on identifying and reaching at-risk undergraduate and graduate students by engaging appropriate professionals to support students’ abilities to persist in their programs of study;
- Also, develop and implement year-round programming for First Year students in conjunction with the Student Success Center and key Student Affairs partners;
- Likewise, responsible for oversight of the Career Pathways Initiative and the Quality Enhancement Plan in collaboration with the respective program directors;
- Provide direct supervision for the Student Success Center with particular focus on special student services, learning labs and peer tutoring services;
- Likewise, lead and provide oversight for seamless coordination and integration of effective support service tools to enhance students’ abilities to succeed through their first-year transition to college;
- Furthermore, utilize data to develop and implement strategies to positively impact key metrics i.e. graduation rates, student satisfaction, student retention goals, and credit generation;
- Develop and implement year-round programming for Summer Institute students in conjunction with Band Director and other band staff;
- Additionally, coordinate with the Student Success Center staff to recruit, select, train, and supervise peer tutors.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred or Master’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of administrative experience in higher education
- Also, demonstrated understanding of enrollment/retention management services
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of current evidence-based best practices related to student retention (experience preferred)
- Likewise, experience gathering data, analyzing trends and writing reports
- Experience identifying areas of improvement based on evidence
- Also, the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines
- Likewise, demonstrated experience in planning and budget management
- Experience working with students from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds preferred
- Similarly, strong technical skills that include experience working with student management and early alert systems/tools
- Ability to effectively digitally communicate through new media, including social network sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram)
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications i.e. Word, Excel, Google Tools, etc.
- Also, supervisory experience.
