Overview:
This temporary position is approved for the fall semester, with the potential for an extension to the spring semester, if needed. The anticipated schedule will be 40 hours per week for 15 weeks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing services to students that incorporate the education of health and wellness, identifying signs and symptoms of minor illnesses and first aid, and promotion of healthy lifestyle behaviors.
- Also, assess patient needs.
- Likewise, record findings in medical charts, using an electronic health record.
- Triage to providers.
- Also, telephone triage and screening when indicated.
- Likewise, coordinate patient flow scheduling.
- Treat to completion according to established RN protocols.
- Provide immunization and immunotherapy.
- Also, in compliance with provider orders and RN protocols, collect lab specimens, perform venipunctures, perform lab testing on-site.
- Furthermore, provide Health Screenings, including vision, hearing, vital signs, height, and weight.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Additionally, experience in several phases of nursing, such as general medical/surgical, public health, industrial, GYN, and clinic.
- Highly organized.
- Also, demonstrated accuracy in computer skills.
- Also, the ability to work effectively under periods of intensity related to emergency situations, high volume census, and increased work volumes.
- Likewise, excellent interpersonal skills, patience, tact, and good judgment are essential to the fulfillment of this task.
- Similarly, successful completion of background checks.
