Job Duties:
- Career counseling, resume and cover letter development and review, application process coaching, and coordinating and/or conducting mock interviews;
- Additionally, counsel and advise students and graduates on all aspects of preparation for and pursuit of professional opportunities and roles including law firm practice, clerkships, business opportunities, government employment, and non-legal positions;
- Also, plan, develop, organize, and present programs, workshops, and panels on topics including career exploration, the application process, private and public sector issues, and judicial clerkships in order to educate and encourage students in the pursuit of professional roles;
- Provide career development to alumni seeking growth and new opportunities throughout their careers
- Enhance and Support Student Educational Experiences and Increase Retention, Foster a Sense of Community and Engagement for Students
- Likewise, establish and Maintain Relationships with Partners to Provide Career Services
- Administrative (HR, Budget), Supervision and Training
- Similarly, serve a diverse student body, including international students, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through one-on-one interactions and broader programming
Required Qualifications:
- Post Baccalaureate Degree, JD (or equivalent) preferred.
- Also, the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
- Knowledge of career development counseling and demonstrated ability to coach others in the decision-making process.
- Furthermore, demonstrated experience effectively developing and presenting materials to a diverse audience with successful outcomes.
- Likewise, the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
- Furthermore, the ability to travel; possess a valid driver’s license, and the ability to meet and maintain the UI Fleet Safety Standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Post-graduation judicial clerkship experience.
- Likewise, private practice experience in a mid-size to the large law firm.
- Furthermore, knowledge of recruiting sources such as Symplicity and Online System for Clerkship Application and Review
