Required Qualifications:  

This position requires a master’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Moreover, the University will give preference to candidates with formal teaching and law enforcement experience in Criminal Justice. Additionally, a valid Florida driver’s license and pre-employment drug screen are required. Also, a current Florida Department of Law Enforcement general topics instructor certification is required with high liability Instructor certifications preferred.

Rank: The appointment level to any faculty position is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Teaching

• Teaches assigned courses.
• Additionally, assists in curriculum development, course reports, and textbook selection.
• Uses instructional technology methods when presenting course content.
• Also, communicates effectively and efficiently with students.
• Likewise, provides written course syllabus which includes classroom and clinical policies, procedures, grading, and learning outcomes.

Professional Development

• Participates in activities that advance professional competencies and teaching skills.
• Also, engages in activities that advance the teaching discipline or profession.
• Maintains or acquires appropriate or required certifications, licensure, or other professional credentials.

College Responsibilities and Service:

• Keeps scheduled office hours as required by the respective load formula for the purpose of academic advising.
• Additionally, records student attendance as necessary.
