Job Summary:
Develop and implement student recruitment plans and activities for the UT Arlington College of Engineering focusing primarily on increasing the number, quality, and diversity of the undergraduate population, both freshman and transfer, and supervise the team of Engineering Student Ambassadors.
Essential Duties:
- On-campus recruitment and outreach activities: Plan long-term student recruitment strategies and programs including the development of presentations and marketing materials for the undergraduate market. Plan and implement recruitment activities and meetings for prospective students on and off-campus.
- Also, this requires occasionally working nights and weekends, and some travel including possible international travel. Also, the incumbent assesses recruitment progress and keep records of prospective student contacts.
- Additionally, manage and present orientations, for new Engineering students. Work collaboratively with Enrollment Management on MavExperience, MavConnect, and any other university-wide initiatives. Hire, train, and manage the student ambassadors, assign their tasks, and evaluate their efforts.
- Also, assist in running and managing pre-college outreach including school year outreach events and summer outreach camps.
- Additionally, participate in the campus-wide Recruitment Coordinating Committee. Off-campus recruitment and outreach activities: Represent UT Arlington College of Engineering at college fairs, conferences, high schools, and community colleges and other recruiting opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree. Two (2) of experience as a student ambassador, student recruiter, advisor, or in an educational capacity with college students or adolescent groups or the equivalent experience.
- Additionally, knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues; ability to gather and evaluate data, compile information and prepare reports; ability to work effectively with diverse populations; excellent organizing and coordinating skills
- Additionally, the ability to work independently and with others; ability to develop effective plans for achieving short and long-range recruitment and outreach goals. Also, to manage student workers; ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; knowledge of standard office equipment
- Furthermore, knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Also, the ability to use email and access information on the Internet and the ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four (4) years or more of experience as an undergraduate student recruiter at a university.
- Furthermore, familiarity with Engineering terminology, experience working with engineering students, or engineering-related work is a plus.
