Apply for the Vacancy for CCEL Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University. The Office of Co-Curricular and Experiential Learning (CCEL) provides project-based learning opportunities for SAIS students to gain experiences through practicums, simulations, leadership programs, staff rides, academic trips, and professional development opportunities. It delivers co-curricular activities that align with the learning outcomes of masters-level degree programs.

Duties

General Office Support (20%)

  • Schedule meetings
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence
  • Book and secure travel arrangements
  • Submit and track reimbursements
  • Manage the procurement (P-card) and travel card
  • Hire and supervise student workers (create and postpositions, timesheets)
  • Edit and create documents (correspondence, marketing materials, etc.)
  • Order office and other supplies as needed
  • Track various office budgets

Experiential Learning and Capstones (20%)

  • Plan and implement capstone projects and experiential learning activities
  • Additionally, work with faculty to support program learning goals and objectives
  • Also, arrange travel activities, in-country events, and housing/transportation
  • Similarly, support practicum and other interactive course offerings that are presented under CCEL
  • Also, help organize and run simulations and Staff Rides
  • Furthermore, track and manage student completion of programs in conjunction with Academic Advising

Co-curricular Activities and Programming (20%)

  • Work with academic focus areas and faculty to create co-curricular activities that align with the academic goals of the school
  • Also, plan conferences, workshops, and speaker series
  • Additionally, collaborate with events staff to ensure programs run smoothly and are well attended
  • Furthermore, create student committees to help organize and execute programs

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications (mandatory):

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly desired. High school diploma/GED required.
  • Also, five years progressively responsible related experience, preferable in an Academic or Student affairs, student programming, and/or leadership programs in a higher education setting required.
  • Furthermore, additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Focus on Academic or Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or related field

Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, data-driven, entrepreneurial and student-centered environment
  • Also, to develop and implement short, medium and long-range plans to meet program needs
  • Ability to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external constituents (e.g., staff, faculty, students, alumni, employers, and vendors)
  • Ability to work with students of varying backgrounds and experiences—including international student populations
