The objectives of WHO’s emergency program are to design and implement programs that prepare the health sector to deal with emergencies and that improve health during and after crises.

Duties

• Provide technical support for the strengthening of the disrupted health system, reduce the fragmentation, and promote coordinated and integrated Primary Health Care approach.
• Additionally, develop and/or adopt Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), data collection tools, etc
• Also, collaborate with the health cluster and implementing partners to coordinate and implement PHC response activities as part of the health cluster’s strategic response.
• Furthermore, coordinate Primary Health Care and Referral system meetings with all relevant partners, producing and circulating minutes, related decisions, and tracking the latter, recommending improvement to current and future field operations based on the lessons learned.
• Also, with technical staff to secure sources of information and recommend work plans for the short-, medium- and long-term.
• Prepare regular reports and updates on the implementation of Primary health care projects.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Technical Officer

Education

Essential: University degree in Medicine or advanced university degree in public health and/or health-related field from an accredited institute.

Desirable: Postgraduate studies or specialized training in PHC, emergency response, or disaster management in the context of public health.

Experience

Essential: At least five years, including at the international level, of progressive and related experience in areas related to health services delivery in emergencies. Also, an extension of health care services to underserved populations/areas. Also, developing strategies to overcome barriers to accessing health care services, including essential medicines.
