Duties

The incumbent will do the following duties

• Provide technical support and local advisory support to communities on disaster risk management (flooding, marine intrusion) identified in the intervention area via assessment missions, weekly training supervision, and awareness-raising and thematic training in response to the shortcomings observed.
• Also, be the interface between the beneficiaries and the project team by transmitting information from the field over time and implementing the actions and recommendations of the project.
• Likewise, promote an innovative approach in the implementation of activities

Main responsibilities

• Ensure the follow-up and technical support of the implementation of project activities especially related to the dune cordon
• Also, establish schedules and objectives for supervision, awareness, and reporting
• Likewise, promote good practices in disaster risk management and help to feedback relevant information for the development of a good approach to project implementation
• Knowledge of the Gender aspect

Specific Knowledge / Desirable Techniques :

• Knowledge of resilience and development projects
• Also, the knowledge of community-based approaches to assessing capacities and vulnerabilities
• Likewise, work experience in the field of coastal dune management, reserved spaces, required
• Knowledge of Soil and Water Conservation / Soil Defense and Restoration techniques (CES / DRS)
• Interest in the topic of disaster risks
• Also, have a good command of communication techniques for development
• Ability to lead and animate training actions for associations in urban and/or peri-urban areas
• Additionally, have a good capacity to take gender into account in the actions of evaluation, planning, and implementation of resilience projects

Requirements

Computer skills desirable in :

• Office pack (Word, Excel), database software, etc.

Experience :

• 1 to 2 years of experience in resilience and development projects.
• Experience in the field of animation and supervision of rural populations
• Community work experience in an urban and/or peri-urban environment

Skills

• Flexibility in working hours and days
• Flexibility and organization,

Languages :

• Fluent French
• Also, Arabic: desired
• Knowledge of the local Hassaniya language is essential
