Duties
The incumbent will do the following duties
- Teaching master level social work courses and advising students. This includes the standard teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester preparation of materials, syllabi, measuring student learning outcomes. Also, ordering and using appropriate textbooks, preparing all methods of evaluation and grading the work submitted, monitoring attendance for compliance with university standards, and recording grades.
- Additionally, participation in CSWE accreditation compliance activities and suggesting curricular updates and changes are included. The candidate must maintain office hours and an advising load comparable to others in the department.
- Also, building and maintaining a focused research agenda. Developing and implementing appropriate research studies, presenting results of this work at appropriate conferences, and publishing this work in discipline-appropriate, peer-reviewed publications.
- Similarly, service to the department, the college, the university, the community, and the profession through membership and leadership on various committees, both standing and ad hoc, consultation in various capacities, presenting educational in-services to entities, serving as a board member, and other such activities.
Qualifications for Vacancy for Assistant Professor
The candidates should meet the given criteria
- Ph.D. or D.S.W awarded or ABD with anticipated completion by August 2021 in Social Work, Social Welfare, a related field, or other doctoral degree in related field.
- Likewise, M.S.W. from a CSWE-Accredited institution
- Also, 2 years post-M.S.W. social work practice experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of teaching experience in a CSWE-Accredited master level social work program
- Also, evidence of scholarly activity
- Previous experience advising and mentoring social work students
- Likewise, evidence of ability to teach across the MSW curriculum with expertise in practice, policy, or research coursework
- Evidence of ability to develop and modify curricula
- Furthermore, prior experience with CSWE accreditation processes, including experience with developing and measuring student learning outcomes
- Also, evidence of interest and abilities in online, distance, and hybrid education
