This position is responsible for leading the Graduate Student Services office of the department, which currently includes 2.5 staff positions.

Duties

The incumbent will do the following duties

Key responsibilities of this position include providing administrative leadership for graduate student recruiting, admissions, and immigration. Also, internal and external communication and marketing; student engagement and student life; career and professional development; and graduate program event planning.

In addition, the successful candidate will support and collaborate with the Associate Department Head for Graduate Studies (to whom this position reports) on strategic and policy aspects of the graduate program, including diversity and inclusion; student funding; curriculum development; data collection, analysis, and reporting; assessment. Also, academic advising; and course enrollment management.

The incumbent should follow the given criteria

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience
• Strong communication and personal skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population, including students, faculty, and staff.
• Experience with typical administrative software tools including electronic file sharing, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or another science or engineering discipline; or a Master’s degree in higher education, academic advising or related field.
• Also, professional experience in higher education
• Furthermore, professional experience as a supervisor
• Additionally, experience working with international students
• Likewise, experience with university student records systems
