Title: Assistant Director, Student Leadership and Transition
Responsibilities for the position
The incumbent will have the following duties
- He/she provides vision and leadership to summer and winter orientation programs for first-year and transfer students and parents/families, including the planning and implementation, and evaluation/assessment of these programs.
- Also, provides support for the selection, training and supervision of student leaders, including the Orientation Leaders and Marymount University Student Government Association.
- Likewise, works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Academics, Admissions, Athletics, Student Living, and International Student Services in order to provide an exceptional transition experience for students and families.
- Also, works collaboratively with Marketing and Communications to design and update marketing products and materials (print publications, social media, resource and training manuals) for orientation and leadership development programs.
- Works collaboratively with other divisions to establish dates and develop the schedule for summer and mid-year Orientation programs.
- Furthermore, provide support for the management of the New Student Orientation budget, including
- Also, assist with the planning and implementation of Welcome Week and Convocation.
Other Duties
- Serve on various University committees and projects as needed.
- Likewise, evening and weekend work required.
- Similarly, support the mission, goals, projects, and activities of Marymount University and the Office of Living & Engagement.
- Also, performs administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Vacancy for Assistant Director
The Director must meet the following requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience
2-3 years of prior work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in developing programs, coaching and/or student leadership/mentoring. Also, experience managing teams and projects is desirable.
Licenses or Certifications
None
Financial Responsibility
Processes or records financial transactions within established guidelines and safeguards.
Special Knowledge
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and oral communication are necessary. Also, general counseling and conflict resolution experience is valuable. Likewise, experience with interpersonal, crisis management, managerial, and community development skills desirable.
