This role will deliver on a specific and ongoing activity to improve and expand the offering of the section related to building the managerial and operational performance of Business Support Organizations, including creating and testing new and adapted tools for cooperatives, sector associations, Investment promotion agencies and their related ecosystems

Duties

The incumbent will have the following duties

• Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned
  programs/projects, etc.; monitors and analyzes program/project development and
  implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports. Also, identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions
• Also, undertakes outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes
  presentations on assigned topics/activities.
• Furthermore, participates in or lead field missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, Business Support Organizations (BSO), Cooperatives, investment promotion agencies, government officials and other parties and drafting mission summaries, assessment/benchmarking reports, etc.
• Additionally, researches, benchmarks, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
• Likewise, coordinates activities related to budget and funding (program/project preparation and
  submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related
  documents/reports (pledging, work program, program budget, etc.).
• Also, performs other duties as required

Qualifications for Vacancy for Program Officer

Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field.
Also, a first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted with an additional two years of qualifying work experience.
Work experience: A minimum of five years’ relevant experience in project or program
management, administration or related area preferably working with or in Business Support
Organizations.
Similarly, experience working in or with developing countries and economies in transition desirable.
Also, with the rules, regulations and procedures of the UN system is desirable.
Additionally, in working with and supporting cooperatives, investment promotion agencies and sectoral associations is desirable.
Languages: Advanced English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage.
