Responsibilities:
The Admissions Counselor for International Students will:
- Serve as the lead processor for all international applications
- Similarly, serve as a navigator for prospective students regarding admissions, transfer credit, residency, and other university policies
- Also, assist prospective students in person, over the phone, texting, and via email
- Likewise, manage recruitment assignment via inquiries, applicants, and enrolled students for international students
- Provide individualized attention, support, and intervention to students seeking transfer or re-entry to McNeese with multiple enrollment concerns (admission processes, admission exceptions, credit articulation and departmental transcript evaluations, financial aid processes, academic advising, and navigation of university systems and procedures).
- Additionally, build relationships with stakeholders to build enrollment
- On a daily basis enter prospective student data into the Student Information System and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and maintain and run reports as assigned
- Also, on a daily basis remain current and aware of Banner (Student Information System), Radius (CRM), BDM (scanning system), Argos, and other systems used by the University
- Furthermore, conduct data management and clean up as necessary
Qualifications for Admissions Counselor Position
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Also, U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency (due to regulations of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and the necessity of this position to serve as a back-up for accessing and updating SEVIS)
- Likewise, energetic, service-oriented, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Additionally, able to handle confidential information in a professional manner while complying with all University, state, and federal regulations
- Also, attentive to detail with strong organizational skills
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines
- Likewise, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds
- Furthermore, commitment to providing high quality service to a diverse group of students
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- Experience with Ellucian Banner, Argos, and/or BDM
- Experience working in an office providing services to international students/clients
