The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organization in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947. It is an international development organization owned and governed by our 26 country and territory members.

Job Summary

The incumbent will provide technical assistance and coordinate project in the area of integrated landscapes management, with particular focus on Reforestation.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Project planning and coordination
• Likewise, Technical Advice and Representational Work
• Also, Reports and Administration
• People Management

 Qualifications for Vacancy for Project Officer

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science; land management, climate change, ecosystems or related discipline

Knowledge and experience

• At least 5 years of project management experience, including at least 3 years or experience in the international sector
• Additionally, experience in working with Pacific region Government representatives and international sector partners

Essential skills

• Exceptional writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Attention to detail with high computer literacy

Language skills

• Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) with a working knowledge of French being an advantage

Interpersonal skills and cultural awareness

• Ability to work in a multicultural, inclusive and equitable environment

Salary, terms and conditions Contract Duration – until 4 October 2021

Benefits for international employees based in Fiji – SPC provides a housing allowance of FJD 1,230–2,750 per month. Additionally, it provides establishment and relocation grant, removal expenses, airfares, home leave, medical and life insurance and education allowances for eligible employees and their recognized dependents. Also, employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave and 30 days of sick leave per annum. Also, access to SPC’s Provident Fund (contributing 8% of salary, to which SPC adds a matching contribution).
