At present, IRENA has 162 Members that acceded to its Statute, and 21 additional States in the process of accession.

Responsibilities for Vacancy for Program Officer in Abu Dhabi

Under the overall guidance of the Director of KPFC, and in close cooperation with the lead of the Renewable Energy Resource Assessment team, the Associate Program Officer will perform the following duties:

• Support countries with the existing service on geospatial assessment of renewable energy potential,
• Also, extend the development of the geospatial assessment services to cover new technology configurations and end-use applications;
• Likewise, liaise with member countries in gathering all the necessary geospatial data for conducting analysis,
• Moreover, contribute in conducting analysis and writing reports related to renewable energy resource assessment;
• Additionally, support the activities of the renewable energy resource assessment team, and ensure coordination with other teams and divisions within IRENA on topics such as renewable energy resources;
• Furthermore, perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

•  Advanced university degree  in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Science, or Renewable Energy-related fields. Also, a first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
•  A minimum of 2 years of proven work experience in the field of renewable energy resource assessment.

Language : Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in other languages would be of additional benefit.

Skills : Strong quantitative and data analytical skills, and Excel/IT skills are required.
