Overview
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Also, our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology. Additionally, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution. Furthermore, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
Duties:
The incumbent will have the following duties
- Creates and maintains databases of undergraduate and graduate information.
- Also, produces data and written reports as needed to support departmental and graduate program missions.
- Moreover, maintains the social media image of the department and grad program in the form of websites, Facebook pages and Twitter.
- Additionally, maintains graduate alumni contacts.
- Moreover, handles routine work as well as unexpected non-routine duties as they arise.
Minimum Education and Experience
The candidates must meet following for the Vacancy for Program Coordinator in the USA
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially relative to creation of materials for student recruitment and alumni relations.
- Also, database creation and management is essential, particularly the creation of databases and numerical reports using Microsoft Excel or similar.
- Additionally, ability to interact comfortably with a very diverse departmental and student population and have effective client service skills.
- Moreover, capable of working under a moderate amount of stress on several concurrent projects with interruptions from personnel, telephone, and electronic media.
- Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of graduate and undergraduate level science program coordination, organization, business functions, and facilitation.
- Also, post-baccalaureate training in ecology, evolution, natural resources or related academic fields.
- Additionally, knowledge of daily operations within academic units.
- Experience in writing and/or editing grants, outreach materials, or science-based newsletters.
