SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Dean, the Coordinator of Venture College will oversee the administration of programs, initiatives, and events to enhance the mission of Venture College which is to inspire and enable an innovative value-creating community.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The candidates must meet the following duties:
- Coordinate weekly meetings with students and provide additional guidance as needed.
- Also, pursue alternate/permanent funding.
- In coordination with other Colleges, organize two campus-wide events over the course of the academic year.
- Maintain records to document student progress on entrepreneurial projects
- With the assistance of the Advancement Office, generate input from alumni, potential donors and important entrepreneurial contacts in the DFW Metroplex to support student learning
- Oversee the Venture College budget
- Moreover, process all payment of expenses in appropriate university accounting systems: Concur, Mane Market, etc.
- Engage in marketing efforts to advertise Venture College
- Provide quarterly update to Dean with summary of outcomes, accomplishments and financial summary of funds utilized and funds raised
- Additionally, identify additional constituents that may benefit from entrepreneurial education and form other initiatives accordingly
- Moreover, manage and engage an advisory board designed to help the students share experiences.
- Engage in entrepreneurship and venture capital events in Commerce, the DFW area, and beyond
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Master’s degree
- Additionally, three years of academic or industry-related experience. Evidence of extensive involvement in one or more entrepreneurial ventures.
- Also, ability to multitask and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students and others with varying cultures and backgrounds. Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Likewise, must hold a current State of Texas Driver’s License. Position requires work outside of normal business hours including evenings and weekends.
SKILLS
- Terminal degree
- Also, experience with budget and/or fund raising initiatives
- Furthermore, familiarity with A&M-Commerce programs/processes.
