Job Description:

Syracuse University’s Department of Economics seeks to fill a position in health economics at the Associate or Full Professor level. Also, this position is part of an ambitious cluster hire initiative in the broad area of Aging, Health, and Neuroscience. Additionally, the subarea of Population Health into which several positions are being filled from different disciplines. Faculty hired into these positions will build on our existing strengths in the focus area and will participate in an organized research cluster that spans multiple departments in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs as well as the University. Qualifications for Vacancy for Associate Professor in USA

Candidates should have done a Ph.D. in Economics. Also, the university prefers to those who have done research in health economics.

Job Specific Qualifications

The University prefers candidates having an outstanding research record according to rank, along with the capacity to advise Ph.D. students in their research. Successful candidates should be able to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in health economics and provide service to the department. Similarly, the university seek candidates who have interdisciplinary interests that complement the broader mission of the Maxwell School and the broader University interests in this area. Special attention will be given to fostering additional demographic diversity within the department. Likewise, the search begins immediately and will remain open.

Responsibilities

The candidate for this position should anticipate participation in an organized research cluster. Also, engagement in publishable research in economic journals, provide guidance and advice to doctoral students. Additionally, help staff Ph.D. and undergraduate classes, and provide service to the department.
