Applications are open for the King’s College London Studentship -Fully Funded. The scholarship is open to specific countries and the deadline is 31st August 2021. The scholarship is called MRC Doctoral Training Partnership (MRC DTP).

The MRC Doctoral Training Partnership (MRC DTP) will award a number of fully-funded MRC postgraduate research studentships to support research and training in Biomedical and Translational Science.

The flexibility of pathways – our MRC DTP Studentships are available full-time (or pro-rata as part-time studentships), either as:

• a one-year MRes followed by a PhD (‘1+3’); or
• as a 3.5 year PhD (‘0+3.5’)

For students joining the DTP program we offer two pathways, students are not required to make a choice until after they have been offered a place on the program and discussed the options with Theme leads. This recognizes that outstanding students will come from a range of backgrounds and have a range of interests and training needs, and so the right decision is made for each student.

Benefits of King’s College London Studentship

The MRC DTP Studentships are fully funded awards; this includes tuition fees, stipend, and bench fee.

Stipend: Students will receive a tax-free stipend for each year of study, this rate will be in line with the MRC’s minimum rates.

Bench fees: A generous allowance will be provided for research consumables and for attending the UK and international conferences. MRC DTP Students will also be eligible to apply for the Flexible Supplement Fund.

Tuition fees: All tuition fees will be fully covered by the MRC DTP Studentship.

Eligibility

Home, EU, and international students are all eligible to apply. We have funding available for up to nine studentship places for EU and international applicants. All MRC DTP studentships are fully funded; including tuition fees, stipend, and bench fee. If you are unsure if you meet the eligibility criteria, contact our Admissions Team for clarification.

Requirements for King’s College London Studentship

The program welcomes applications from a diverse range of backgrounds. Applicants will be reviewed on qualifications, experience, and potential to undertake a research degree.

The minimum entrance qualification is an Upper Second Class Honours degree in a relevant subject or an equivalent overseas qualification. Applicants who do not meet the minimum entrance requirements may be admitted if they hold an alternative qualification of an equivalent or higher level in a relevant subject, or can prove relevant professional experience that demonstrates that the applicant can follow and complete the program.

If English is not your first language you will be required to provide evidence that you meet the minimum English requirements of the Faculty [Band D] as prescribed by the university’s English Language requirements. If you are unable to provide this confirmation before applying any offer you are made would be conditional upon you meeting these requirements prior to enrolment and no later than the 31 of August 2021.
