The Department of Economics is delighted to invite applications for the PhD Position in Bayesian Statistics applied to topics in microeconomic at Ghent University for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Also, the studentship is to give for international students who have a chance to study a PhD degree in Belgium and aims to help them with covering some of their study expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Countries: Students from all nationalities are eligible to apply for this application.

- Likewise, to be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
- Candidates should hold a master degree in statistics or mathematics, be familiar with Bayesian hierarchical modelling, and should have an interest in applying these methods to questions in economics and decision making.
- Additionally, they should belong to the top 10% of their class.
- Furthermore, candidates with a master degree in economics or psychology will also be considered if they can show a strong quantitative background and advanced knowledge of Bayesian statistics.
Offered Benefits
The position provides a monthly scholarship of approximately €2.070 (net), social security (health insurance and pension contributions), end-of-year and holiday bonus, travel and computer equipment resources, and other benefits.
