Public Management Fellowship position available at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, United States of America. The University of Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service has an opening for a Public Management Fellow located in the East Tennessee area.
The successful candidate will work for the municipalities of Sevierville, Maryville, Clinton, and Dandridge serving as a member of the managerial staff providing support for each city manager and/or department head. The fellow will rotate among each participating city performing jobs as directed.
The Management Fellow works for one or more Tennessee cities serving as a member of the managerial staff providing support to city manager(s) and city department heads to gain practical experience in local government management. Examples of work performed will range from research and analysis of various issues such as employee benefits, purchasing, contracts, and franchises as they are renewed to analyzing and managing the budget process for one or more department’s budget within one or more cities. In the latter instance, the fellow may serve as a team leader or coordinator in the development of the departmental budget. Performs other duties as assigned by the city manager(s) in conformance with the inter-local agreement with UT/MTAS.
