Details

Apply for Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, United States of America. The position is available at the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Resnick in the Department of Physics. Candidates must be highly motivated individuals to apply for a new post-doctoral position dedicated to studying the physiological role of primary cilia in health and disease.

This unique opportunity involves using advanced experimental tools of biophysics, molecular biology, and electrophysiology to understand how this structure is used by cells to sense fluid flow and thus, how fluid flow can regulate biological processes. The research fellow will be involved with characterizing elicited responses from sensory stimulation, construction and testing of an improved tissue perfusion chamber, correlating manipulations of cilium structure with altered cilium mechanics, and determining effects of fluid flow on transepithelial salt and water transport.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), candidate at this Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Cleveland State University performs the following duties

  • Conducts experiments as well as consults scientific literature and discusses with PI and collaborators in order to design and execute experiments that address important questions in the field.
