Applications are open for Tech Law Fellowship at North Carolina Central University in the United States of America. The Center’s staff will support interdisciplinary scholarship and discussions related to technology law, data security, business law, and regulation policy. Policy discussions and engagement will focus on, inter alia, technological racial disparities such as implicit bias and the racial justice implications of using data and predictive analytics in daily life and the criminal justice system.

The Center’s staff will also provide support to faculty in the education of students in the emerging legal technology space and provide instruction and training to faculty on best practices for delivering legal education using technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Primary Purpose of Position

North Carolina Central University School of Law seeks to hire a technology law fellow to join its newly created Technology Law and Policy Center. The fellowship is a full-time, two-year position. The technology law fellow position is meant to serve as a professional development opportunity for early-career professionals who are interested in technology law and policy.

The technology law fellow will work with the Executive Director and the Associate Dean of Technology and Innovation to provide instruction to the students, provide career advice to the students, to conduct research on legal technology issues, and to produce scholarship. The tech law fellow will receive mentorship and networking opportunities from attorneys practicing in the technology law and policy areas.

Minimum Education/Qualifications

Applicants for this Tech Law Fellowship at North Carolina Central University will have the following qualifictions

  • J.D. degree or equivalent international degree
  • Expertise in one or more areas of technology-related law
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in technology law
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently to produce quality scholarship
  • Demonstrated interest in law and technology
